New Makeup Buys

A few weeks ago Chemist Warehouse had a fabulous sale of 50% off cosmetics, this pleased me greatly. Although I tend to be an impulse buyer, I managed to walk out the sliding doors of chemist warehouse only being $20 poorer and with only 2 products to add to my growing collection...it's a miracle.
I am attempting to save some money to go on a nice holiday somewhere, but my efforts over the past year have been disappointing to say the least. However, I am very pleased with my picks and am glad I snatched them up before they went back to their original price tags.

I haven't purchased a new concealer in a very long time, so I though I would give my MAC Select Cover-Up concealer a bit of a break. I wanted something for under the eyes, redness in my cheek/jaw area and the occasional breakout. I decided to give the Revlon Colorstay Concealer a go as I have really liked the staying power of the Colorstay foundation in the past. It's still early days, but so far so good. I feel like it might be a little bit too heavy for under my eyes (I might need to invest in a lightweight under eye concealer), but my redness disappears easily under this heavy-duty concealer. It doesn't feel too heavy on my skin, blends in really nicely and lasts very well throughout the day. Thumbs up Revlon.

My second purchase was something I had thought about purchasing, but i'd never really convinced myself that I really needed it. I've heard some really good reviews about the Maybelline Illegal Length Mascara, so the 50% off cosmetics pushed me over the edge. This mascara is nice for everyday if you put a single coat on, but when a few coats have been applied...wow. The fibre extensions really do give lashes a little bit of extra length, while the formula allows the product to be buildable, without looking  spider-like. What a win-win situation.

So all in all I am happy with my restrained purchases. $20 for a good concealer and mascara is a pretty darn good deal if you ask me. You go chemist warehouse!

What have you purchased recently?

Much love xx

(BTW I did purchase these products before I started my project 10 pan, just sayin')

  1. I wish I could try the Revlon Colourstay Concealer, however they don't tend to sell shades dark enough for my skin here in Australia - I'll have to have a look online to see if it comes any darker.

You'll love the Maybelline Illegal Length Mascara, I used it religiously after first purchasing it. Reading your post has reminded me that it's somewhere in my collection, maybe it's due for a comeback!

My most recent purchase the other day was the Rimmel London Apocalips lip lacquer in the shade Apocalyptic. Priceline have a 50% the entire Rimmel London range for the next two weeks :)

  2. The Revlon Colorstay Concealer used to be the only concealer I used. It's great for blemishes but it does get a bit gloopy after a while.
